Digital Illustration

ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Sophie McGregor (aka Grumpimoon), a 2D animator and digital/mixed-media illustrator with a lifelong devotion to bring characters to life! I absolutely love creating anything cute, cool, or spooky… sometimes a fun mix of all three!

I've been an artist ever since I could pick up a crayon! At age six, I placed in my first of many art contests. By the age of ten I was doing digital illustrations and have been animating since the age of twelve. My passion for art burns just as brightly now as it did back then!

In my small Texan hometown, my freelance art career began in high school with commissions for murals, signs, custom portraits, and various illustrations. Multiple mediums were used in the creation of these such as colored pencil, acrylic, as well as digital art programs. In my community, I painted many murals both for pay and volunteer projects.

More recently, Catfish Designs and authors Howard and Pat London, hired me as the illustrator for the children's book: 'Lucky the Poochipug'. My latest animated commission was for Action the Movie: Ragna Rock's opening theme.

From 2023-2025, I studied under successful industry professionals at the fully accredited CG Spectrum College of Digital Art and Animation. My certifications include CG Spectrum's 2D Animation course, Advanced 2D Animation Course, 2D Cut-out Animator Specialization, and Digital Illustration Specialization. I feel very proud to have received Excellence Awards for both Advanced 2D Animation Course and 2D Cut-out Animator Specialization.

Under CG Spectrum my art has absolutely flourished as my dreams come closer to reality. I consider myself an artistic "Jack-of-all-trades", enthusiastic with everything I create. Though, I am most interested in story boarding, hand drawn animation, character design, and comics, I'm open minded and ready to fill my resume with high quality projects.

Thank you for checking out my silly little corner of the internet! I am available, ready to work, and look forward to hearing from you!
